clustering activities

At STORCITO, we believe that meaningful change in rural sustainability requires more than isolated action. That’s why we actively engage in clustering activities with other Horizon Europe and EU-funded projects that share our mission to support rural development, climate action, digital innovation, and social inclusion.

Through clustering, we exchange knowledge, co-organise events, and align our strategies to maximise impact at the EU level.

REBOAT is an EU-funded project that aims to tackle waste surges on European islands through a circular and community-based approach. Its core innovation is a mobile recycling and reprocessing plant on a boat, designed to transform local plastic and textile waste into new products while supporting sustainable tourism, local co-creation, and island resilience.

GRANULAR is an EU-funded project focused on improving knowledge for better rural policies across Europe. By developing new datasets, tools, and methods, the project helps better understand the diversity and dynamics of rural areas, while supporting policymakers, researchers, and local actors in promoting fair digital, economic, and ecological transitions tailored to rural territories.

ICONIC is an EU-funded project that supports rural islands in becoming more climate-neutral, resilient, and self-sufficient. By combining renewable energy solutions, circular economy practices, smart mobility systems, and participatory governance, the project empowers local communities to co-design innovative pathways for a fair and sustainable transition.

THESEUS is an EU-funded project establishing Greece’s first Hub for Circularity in the Attica region. By bringing together industry, public authorities, researchers, and local communities, the project develops and tests circular solutions for water, energy, and materials management, helping scale industrial–urban symbiosis and support Europe’s transition toward climate neutrality and resource efficiency.

DeremCo is a European project focused on unlocking the value of end-of-life composite materials through innovative de- and remanufacturing solutions. By combining sustainable manufacturing, digitalisation, and interregional collaboration, the project supports the reuse, recycling, and upgrading of composite waste into new high-value applications, contributing to a more circular and resource-efficient industrial ecosystem.

YouRban is an EU-funded project that promotes circular, inclusive, and sustainable urban ecosystems for the local reprocessing of reinforced polymers. Working through participatory approaches in Milan and Barcelona, the project brings together citizens, creatives, urban manufacturers, and local stakeholders to co-design new products, reduce waste, and support climate-neutral cities through mobile and flexible production systems.

Wood2Wood is an EU-funded project focused on transforming wood waste from construction, demolition, and furniture into high-value products through innovative recycling and upcycling processes. By developing advanced sorting, cleaning, and valorisation technologies, the project aims to reduce landfill and incineration, lower demand for virgin wood, and support a more circular and resource-efficient economy.

SUM4Re is a Horizon Europe project that promotes circular construction by creating material banks from the built environment through digital urban mining. By combining automated on-site data acquisition, building material identification, and innovative asset mapping technologies, the project helps recover valuable resources from existing buildings and supports more efficient, circular, and sustainable construction practices.
